Bill Connor on the Issues
Bill Connor, on Life: “Life is the first liberty; if government can’t protect innocent life, it can’t protect any other liberty we have. Life begins at conception, and I will do everything I can to protect life from conception to natural death.”
Bill Connor, on the Second Amendment: “When our Founding Fathers gave the right to bear arms to a ‘well regulated militia’, they understood ‘militia’ to mean ‘every able-bodied man’. We would add women to that today. I believe that the Second Amendment is an absolute guarantee of the right to bear arms to every law-abiding citizen in the United States. I had to use weapons to defend myself and my men from the Taliban in Afghanistan. I would never take that right away from any other South Carolinian, nor allow anyone else to take that right away. Not only do I support Concealed Carry, I carry a Concealed Weapons Permit.”
Bill Connor, on the FairTax: “South Carolina taxes work, and then wonders why we have fewer jobs. It’s time to re-prioritize our tax structure to stop penalizing hard working citizens and promote freedom instead. I support ending the corporate and personal income tax. If we ended sales tax exemptions, we could pay for it, and at the same time tax the underground economies which currently pay no tax at all. In that process, South Carolina’s small businesses would be empowered to created thousands of jobs with the income they would be able to keep.”
